Southwest Waste Services is Southwest Florida's top recycling and collection company. We specialize in waste hauling, disposal, recycling, and site work services. Now with 8 locations, we lead in construction and demolition debris recycling.
We are seeking an experienced Grader to join our Land Development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing various grading tasks on various construction projects, ensuring proper site preparation, drainage, and compliance with project specifications.

Responsibilities

Operate a skid steer to achieve precise grading results
Interpret and follow construction plans, blueprints, and grade stakes
Ensure proper soil compaction and site leveling
Create appropriate slopes for effective water drainage
Prepare surfaces for landscaping or hardscaping
Collaborate with project managers and other team members to meet project timelines
Maintain equipment and perform basic repairs when necessary
Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction grading, with a focus on final grading
Strong understanding of site preparation and drainage principles
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and grade stakes
Knowledge of soil types and compaction techniques
Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Skills

Excellent attention to detail and precision in grading work
Strong problem-solving skills to address site challenges
Good communication skills to coordinate with team members
Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions
Basic math skills for calculating grades and slopes

Work Environment

Full-time position with overtime
Work is primarily outdoors on construction sites
